The last ascent by cable car is at 18:30, at La Mongie, parking spaces are more or less easy to find. It takes 20 minutes to climb to the top, at 2,877 m above sea level. The ascent is done in two stages thanks to two different cable cars.

It’s time to observe the landscape and numerous small animals scattered around the mountain: sheep, marmots… Beware of those who get dizzy, the gondolas shake slightly from time to time.

Concert in small groups

In total, about 300 people attend the concert. With the first part starting around 7pm, before the concert starts at 8pm, this gives you time to eat, or to go to the pedestrian bridge over the gap. On the other hand, we advise you to wait for the beginning of the evening to take photos there, the line will be much shorter. Tables, chairs and lounge chairs are available to enjoy the ambiance while you wait for the first part or the start of the performance.

In addition to the magnificent ambience, the reduced number of the audience is pleasant and allows you to wander at will, even during the concert. An opportunity to take advantage of multiple viewing angles. The stage is not big, which allows good proximity to the artists.

For music professionals, the sound remains very good, even if it’s windy. The service usually lasts 1h30, starts while it’s still daylight and ends when the sun sets. The gradual disappearance of the sun accompanies the evening and offers a beautiful view over the mountains.

Our advice

When you arrive, we advise you not to delay ordering a meal, if you haven’t brought your own. Supplies are dwindling fast, and the selection is limited to last (no more desserts at a certain time and only one entree left).

If you can bring your own meal, it will cost you less. At the peak, you need between 10 and 20 euros per person for a meal, and for gourmets even more. Water bottles are prohibited from the start of the cable car, bring water bottles. Beer and soft drinks also await you at the top.

Despite the hot weather lately, don’t forget to bring something to cover up there. A sweater and trousers will not be too much.
