The Spaniard has signed a two-season contract with LCR Honda Castrol

Rins replaces Marquez, who leaves for Gresini

MotoGP: Rins will ride HondaThat’s it, the game of musical chairs is well and truly underway in MotoGP after Suzuki finally confirmed their end-of-season withdrawal. Between riders with a lack of results, big names without a bike, and young shoots to make room for, things are starting to pick up.

Miller leaving for KTM has left a seat at official Ducati, a seat that should logically go to Jorge Martin, and whose Enea Bastianini would lead Pramac if he doesn’t burn his courtesy and land immediately at the team’s factory. For this reason, the Gresini Racing team has already hired Alex Marquez to replace Bastianini next year in his Desmosedici.

Therefore, Lucio Cecchinello’s LCR Honda Castrol team needed to find a replacement for the younger of the Marquez siblings. And finally, Alex Rins has just signed a two-season contract on a Honda RC213V satellite.

Having said that, there is now no doubt that it is Joan Mir who will benefit from the status of an official rider in the Repsol Honda team alongside Marc Marquez (if he recovers from the latest operation), because we know that the manufacturer will not continue with Pol Espargaro, who is to return to KTM, but with the Tech3 team, the team with which he made his debut in the premier category, but on Yamaha.

The only real uncertainty at the moment concerns LCR’s other Honda team. Indeed, Takahaki Nakagami is out of contract and has failed to win in the premier category. First of all, Ai Ogura could replace him, which would allow Honda to add some new blood while retaining the Japanese driver.
